Our support is growing for the 5th grade Make a Difference Club all the way from Door County!! A special thank you to Teresa Zimmerman from Sturgeon Bay who heard about our need for hearts and generously sent 20 packages of hearts to our school. Teresa heard about our outreach from Kathleen Jensen on her website, The Little Heart Project. Thanks again Kathleen in our partnership to heal the world with love and kindness!

Our support is growing. These 30 hearts were generously donated to the Bangor 5th Grade Make a Difference Club directly from the Perler Bead company, a division of IG Design Group Americas. Thank you so much for supporting our project. A special thank you to Kathleen Jensen, The Little Heart Project, for reaching out to the Perler company on our behalf.

"Last week, students in Foods I and Foods II practiced and reviewed their knife skills with the first foods labs of the year!
Foods I students fried up potatoes and were given creative freedom on which types of cuts they wanted to utilize. Foods II students made Pico de Gallo and homemade tortilla chips. They learned the proper way to cut certain vegetables, including a special trick to not cry when chopping onions!"

3rd graders who received a heart for their backpack last year wanted to share the love and kindness back with the 6th graders who were in the Make a Difference Club by sharing bracelets. Last year that group of 14 students, made over 350 pearl bead hearts so all students grades 4K-5th grade had a pearl bead heart tied to their backpacks. In addition, these students also made one for every staff member of our school to put on their backpacks and purses. This past summer Mr. Jacobson's softball team decided to tie hearts to their softball bat bags. Our 3rd graders decided they do not want to wait to be in the Make a Difference Club in 5th grade. They want to Make a Difference Now!! These hearts are not just hearts, they are people's life stories. Awesome kindness, caring, and love shared between both our schools
